- Carefully clean greenware re-carving the detail where necessary.
- Fire to properly fired witness cone 04.
- Glaze the inside with color of your choice.
- Fire to properly fired witness cone 06/05.
- Basecoat the pig with Roughcut Bronze.
- Add True Orange to Mustard a small amount at a time until you get a rusty color.
- Add whiting (purchased at the hardware store) to the color to make a thick paste. Water can be added
if it gets too thick.
- Using an old bristle or chip brush, stipple this color over the pig allowing some of the bronze to show.
- Wetbrush True Orange and Terra Cotta over the piece until you get the desired effect.
- Make a wash of Roughcut Bronze and darken the crevices and re-establish some darks in the rust, if necessary, by
letting the color drip off the tip of a large round brush.
